MG University UGP (Honours) Admission Procedure

What is UGP (Honours) ?

The UGP (Honours) programme is a 4-year undergraduate degree offered by Mahatma Gandhi
University under the new honours curriculum. It includes honours and research pathways for
subjects like BA, BSc, BCom, etc.

MGU UG (Honours) admissions are done through the Centralized Allotment Process (CAP) run by the university every year.


  • Visit the official CAP website:cap.mgu.ac.in
  • Choose UGP (Honours) admission.
  • Create your profile and log in with the application number and password.

Students must register online and submit the necessary details through the CAP portal.
Steps usually include:

  • Enter personal and academic information
  • Choose preferred colleges/courses
  • Confirm and submit the application online

(Exact dates and portal windows open each year – check the CAP site when admissions begin)
(Admissions are merit-based, and seats are allotted through the CAP system.)

Trial Allotment and Final Allotment
After application:

  • Trial Allotment is published first — shows a provisional list based on merit & options you gave. You may modify options after this.
  • First Allotment is released later.

  • If you get an allotment, download the Allotment Memo.
  • Pay admission fees online or at the college within the given dates.
  • Further second/third allotments happen if seats remain.

Once allotted:

    • Pay the required fees online or at the college.
    • Report to the allotted college with all required documents (marksheets, certificates, etc.).

  • Students should have passed +2 or equivalent from a recognized board/university to be eligible for admission.
